ROLE OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS IN EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE: A CASE STUDY OF PAKISTAN'S BANKING INDUSTRY
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of training and development factors in enhancing the performance of the employees of the Banking Sector in Pakistan. The quantitative research sought toget quantitative data from 250 employees from female commercial banks in Pakistan using structured questionnaires. The qualitative analysis indicated a highly significant positive association between training design, delivery mode, and frequent and employee performance measures, including productivity, job satisfaction, and service delivery to customers. They found that banks with elaborate training featured 23 percent higher levels of worker productivity and 31 percent higher customersatisfaction ratings than other banks with fewer training projects. On-the-job training with the accompaniment of digital learning platforms is ranked relatively high in performance. This indicates that the respective Pakistani banks should advance structured and continuous professional development programs, specifically those based on the application and use of technology to improve work forcecapabilities and thus guarantee competitiveness within the dynamic financial environment. These imply that training factors could be important in emerging human resources development sectors.
